Ofsted award 'Outstanding' grade for Charles Darwin Primary in Norwich.

We are delighted to share the news that Charles Darwin Primary has achieved a superb ‘outstanding’ grade. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved at the school.

Charles Darwin Primary, which opened in September 2016 and was inspected 25th - 26th June, has achieved the highest possible accolade and been judged as ‘outstanding’ in all areas. This is a great achievement for a new free school in its first inspection.

Under the excellent leadership of principal Jo Brown, the school and its staff have achieved a great deal in a short time. The inspection report highlights the ‘culture of high ambitions for staff and pupils’, the strengths of the ‘high quality’ curriculum and describes the school’s ‘confident, inquisitive learners’, noting that they ‘make very strong progress’.

The report also recognises the very positive feedback received from parents and states that leaders ‘have been uncompromising in their aim for teaching to be consistently of the highest quality.’

Principal Jo Brown said: "It has been an incredible three years at Charles Darwin, from building a school with two classrooms to now a high achieving school. I am so proud of the staff, children and parents whom have supported the school with an unwavering belief in our high expectations about what can be achieved."

Chief Executive, Dame Rachel de Souza said: “The school is already making a real difference to its community and families. We are so proud of what the dedicated and committed staff have achieved, and also of our wonderful pupils. We set out to open a school which provided an exceptional education for its young people and this inspection report shows that we have done just that. The school will now go from strength to strength.”
