Live Music Week Orchestra Performance at Charles Darwin
BackThe Inspiration Trust music teachers visited Charles Darwin in October to give our pupils a 50-minute orchestra performance. The music teachers gave solo performances to demonstrate instruments, as well as sharing knowledge on the names of instruments, the instrument families and how they work. There were also duet performances, as well as whole orchestra performances. Some pieces were for the children to listen to, while others were played to encourage the children to sing along!
This year, we have our first pupil orchestra. They have individual lessons, as well as an orchestra elective. These pupils performed a song in the assembly, conducted by the music teachers. The energy levels were high, and children and staff commented on how incredible the performance was, and how motivating it was to learn music.
